The owner of the Patriots franchise, Robert Kraft, mourned Gino’s death via their website. Gino was the first person in the history of the Patriots to become an MVP and all-time leading scorer. He married Sandy and had three daughters named Gina, Cara, and Christiana. He was honored as an MVP of AFL in 1964. He was with the Patriots from 1960 to 1970. 

He was an amazing storyteller. After closing his career with the NFL Patriots, he worked as a radio color analyst for the team. During the AFL days, he played all regular-season games for the Patriots. He once shared one of his most memorable moments while working at the radio booth. He was alongside Gil Santos, and Adam Vinatieri scored a game-winning goal for the Patriots for their first championship against the St. Louis Rams.

On the news of his death, Robert Kraft said, “My heart aches to learn of Gino Cappelletti’s passing this morning.” He shared about Gino’s achievements. He passed away at the age of 89. The cause of Gino’s death has not been specified yet. But the officials have confirmed that he had passed away.
